“Bol Re Dilli Bol” song released by Munish Raizada Films

Sung by Kailash Kher, the song Bol Re Dilli Bol (बोल रे दिल्ली बोल) was recently released by Munish Raizada Films. The song is a part of documentary film (6 episodes) named “Transparency: Pardarshita” that has been directed by Dr. Munish Raizada.

Bol Re Dilli Bol song is based upon the plight of Delhi under the rule of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government. Munish Raizada has been part of India Against Corruption (also known as Anna aandolan) and AAP. The director believes that the Kejriwal-led government sidelined the core ideals of the party, while trying to sell his achievements via governance, which at best is a matter of perception.

Here are the lyrics of the song Bol Re Dilli Bol in Devnagri and Roman scripts.

BOL RE DILLI BOL Lyrics in English/Roman script:

JHHOOT BOL KE CHHALI GAYI TU

DALI GAYI TU, MALI GAYI TU

5 SAAL KI YEH HAI TARAKKI

BARSON PICHHE CHALI GAYI TU

JHOOT KA JISNE PEETA DHOL

KHOL DE USKI POL

BOL RE, DILLI BOL

BHEDH JIYA KE KHOL

DILLI KA KYA HAAL BATAYE

SADKO KI KYA CHAL BATAYE

GARD MEIN DILLI DOOB CHUKI HAI

AB JEENE SE UB CHUKI HAI

USPE AAYEGA ILZAAM

JISNE NAHI KIYA KUCH KAAM

KHOL DE USKI POL

BOL RE, DILLI BOL

BHEDH JIYA KE KHOL

SHIKSHA KI BAATEIN BEMANI

GADH LI JHOOTHI EK KAHANI

AUR MOHALLA CLINIC JAISE

CHHAYI GHATA, BARSA NA PAANI

USKI HOGI ABKI MAAT

DILLI SE KI JISNE GHAAT

KHOL DE USKI POL

BOL RE, DILLI BOL

BHEDH JIYA KE KHOL

SAB BERANG HAI GANDHIGIRI

YEH KYA JAANE, KYA HAI FAKIRI

BHRASHTACHARI LOG YEH TEHERE

INKE HAI RUG RUG MEIN AMEERI

KAR DIYA JANTA KO BEHAL

CHANDE KA BHI KHA GAYE MAAL

KHOL DE USKI POL

BOL RE, DILLI BOL

BHEDH JIYA KE KHOL

KOODA, KARKAT AUR GANDAGI

INN SAB SE AB ROZ BANDAGI

BIJLI PAANI KE DAFTAR MEIN

GHUT GHUT KE MAR GAYI ZINDAGI

JHOOTHE  RAIN BASERE WALE

JO HAIN DOHARE CHEHERE WALE

KHOL DE USKI POL

BOL RE, DILLI BOL.

BHEDH JIYA KE KHOL

The Estonia example for Delhi

Capture c

The Pioneer‘ newspaper published my piece on how Estonia’s e-governance model can be emulated to make Delhi paperless.

Estonia boasts of rapid Internet connections at over 1,000 public places across the country. Most of these places provide free of cost Wi-Fi. This has resulted into use of Internet for many daily activities. In Estonia, close to 98 per cent banking transactions and 94 per cent of income tax declarations took place through the Internet in 2012. The Government’s expenditures can be tracked in real time by anyone using the Internet.

Such measures seem reminiscent of the Aam Aadmi Party’s working, which allows anyone to view the donations made to the party or know of recent decisions to upload land titles online for public viewing.

AAP’s nabbing 100 days

Capture

The Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi government completed 100 days in office on May 24, 2015.

Political parties in India have a simple rule: Come to power, enjoy for four years, fulfil a couple of promises listed in their manifesto at the onset of the fifth year and reel out a make a new manifesto with same points for the next election. So when AAP got down to work from the very first day, it raised many eyebrows.

My article published on May 24, 2015 in Daily Post on Aam Aadmi Party’s achievements in its 100 days of rule in Delhi.

Delhi High Court slammed Delhi Police on its plea challenging ACB’s powers

New Delhi, May 14, 2015: Delhi Police (DP) had filed an application in the Delhi High Court, challenging the powers of Delhi’s Anti- Corruption Branch in arresting a DP Constable on charges of corruption. The reason cited was the July 2014 notification of home ministry that stated: The state government has no jurisdiction to prosecute or arrest a Delhi Police employee.
Yesterday the HC came down heavily on DP and dismissed the plea.
The HC bench ruled that:”This plea is nothing short of indiscipline by the Delhi Police where powers of the state government are being challenged by a disciplined force”
The bench came to the conclusion that such an arrangement would lead to “anarchy” and “sharp differences between constitutional authorities and the police force will only erode the authority of the government and undermine law and order within the state.“
It is high time now that the Centre instead of engaging in power politics should think about improving accountability of Delhi Police. The control of DP should be transferred to Delhi state Govt. for micro-managing the police. As far as security of VIPs is concerned, there can be an alternative arrangement.

Delhi versus Washington DC: Why we must let Federalism win

“A true ‘Swaraj’ will only prevail in Delhi when power is vested in the elected representatives. Let us not asphyxiate the principle of federalism by procrastinating the issue of Delhi statehood.”

How unregulated and undisclosed political funding threatens India’s democracy

Just holding free and fair elections in a peaceful manner does not mean all is well with our democracy. The real issue is how we tackle the underlying problem of political finance – the mother of all sins.

AAP’s landslide win in Delhi is a victory of the common man

The stunning victory of Aam Aadmi Party is not only a resounding verdict on the steadfastness, self-belief and hard work of largely volunteer-driven Aam Aadmi Party; it is equally a reminder to the incumbent BJP (at Centre) that public goodwill cannot be sustained if promises are not kept.
